Arts and culture streets planned
Province to create two on island

The provincial government is planning to create streets dedicated to the arts and culture in some of the island’s old downtown neighborhoods.

Officials will evaluate eight candidate areas before choosing two by the end of the year.

The province will come up with detailed plans to culturally reinvigorate the two neighborhoods. The program will include new facilities and support for businesses related to the arts and culture.

제주도가 구도심지역을 중심으로 문화 예술의 거리 조성사업을 추진합니다.

이를 위해 연말까지 구도심 지역 8군데를 대상으로 사전 용역을 거쳐
최종 2군데를 선정할 계획입니다.


신규 문화예술의 거리에 대해서는 문화재생과 문화시설 설치, 문화예술 관련 업종 육성 등 체계적인 관리방향을 정립하고 사업구상을 마련하게 됩니다.
