Jeju National University’s Department of Clothing and Textiles is the island’s only university department that offers clothing-related lectures… and 2015 is its 20th anniversary. Many young Jeju designers who study there dream of becoming the next Andre Kim, who is Korea’s most well-known addition to international fashion. Suejin Choi has more.

The designer of this piece of clothing was inspired by the animated works of Pixar. Movies by director Tim Burton were used for inspiration too.
The contrasting colors and shapes reflect the human mind’s internal and external conflicts (often seen in a Tim Burton film).

This is the Clothing and Textile Department’s Graduate Exhibition.

The final products are reinterpreted works of youthful minds, inspired by movies, famous architectural structures, and world history.

The topics we were given to use as inspiration were all closely related to fashion, so I tried to keep that connection alive in my work.

These may be far from perfect, but the youthful reinterpretations and originality are enough to captivate the viewer.
