Jeju, Gyeonggi governors sign cooperative agreement
Won Heeryong, Nam Kyung-pil meet Monday morning

The governors of Jeju and Gyeonggi signed an agreement Monday morning at the provincial office detailing their pledge to work together on a number of issues.

Won Heeryong and (남경필) Nam Kyung-pil agreed to collaborate on 14 inter-province projects, spread out among five categories. The categories include support for startups targeting emerging overseas markets, distribution channels for agricultural and seafood products as well as other specialties of the two provinces, and tourism.

The governors will also expand contract sales of school meal ingredients and food. They say that will create a more stable supply and boost the economies in farming villages in Jeju and Gyeonggi.

Local government representatives say they are giving priority to projects that will provide noticeable benefits to Jeju residents.

제주도-경기도, 상생협력 협약 체결

원희룡 제주특별자치도지사와 남경필 경기도지사가오늘(31일) 오전 제주도청 회의실에서 상생협력 협약식을 맺었습니다.

이 자리에서 원지사와 남지사는 신흥 해외시장 창업을 위한 공동 플랫폼 구축과 농.수.특산물 판매 협력,도민 관광교류 활성화 등 5개분야 14개 사항에 대한 공동추진을 약속했습니다.

특히 학교 급식 농산물 계약 재배를 확대해 농촌 경제 활성화와 농산물 안정 공급에 협력하기로 했습니다.

제주도는 성공 가능성이 높은 분야부터 우선 추진해 나가겠다며, 도민 체감도가 높은 업무 협약이 될 수 있도록 노력하겠다고 밝혔다.
