Bronze statue of Chusa Kim Jeong-hui being moved
To be relocated from Daejeong par to Chusa Hall

The bronze statue of Chusa Kim Jeong-hui will be moved from its current location in a park in (대정읍) Daejeong-eup, Seogwipo.

Seogwipo officials say the Cultural Heritage Administration has approved the relocation of the statue to a site near Chusa Hall and the artist‘s house of exile.

The house itself is too small to accommodate the statue, so it was originally erected about 400 meters away in a park near (남문지) Nammunji Pond.

After the relocation, more visitors will be able to see the statue because it will be along the route most of them take.

추사 김정희 동상 추사관으로 이설

서귀포시 대정읍 소공원에 있는 추사 김정희 동상이 제주 추사관과 유배지 인근으로 옮겨집니다.

서귀포시는 추사 김정희 동상을 이설하는 계획에 대해 문화재청으로부터 현상 변경을 허가받았다고 밝혔습니다.

지금까지 추사 김정희 동상은 유배지 내에 공간이 협소해 건립되지 못하고 약 400미터 떨어진 대정읍 남문지 소공원에 설치돼 있었습니다.

문화재청이 이설을 허가함에 따라 동상은 이번달 중 추사관과 유배지 관람 동선에 포함되는 곳으로 옮겨져 보다 많은 관람 기회를 제공하게 됩니다.
