Crackdown on rule-breaking on Hallasan Mountain
Smoking, straying off approved paths, off-limits camping, etc.

Officials are cracking down on hikers who flout the rules on Hallasan Mountain.

The provincial government is expecting more visitors this fall, so authorities will be keeping a close eye on them day and night throughout the month of September.

They are targeting camping in off-limits areas, the picking of rare plants without permission, cooking and smoking in the national park, and straying off approved paths.

The provincial government has fined 65 people so far this year for those offenses.

한라산에서 담배를 피거나 출입금지 지역에 출입하는 행위가 중점 단속됩니다.

제주특별자치도는 가을철 한라산을 찾는 등반객들이 늘어날 것으로 보고 이달 한 달 동안 주간은 물론 야간에도 불법행위를 집중단속 합니다.

단속 대상은 출입이 금지된 천연보호구역내 야영이나, 희귀식물 무단 채취, 불법 취사, 흡연 등입니다.
