‘No tax breaks means fewer tourists’
Results of survey on proposed change in tax law for golf clubs

According to the results of a recent survey, if the national government discontinues consumption tax breaks for local golf courses as planned, fewer people will come to the island to play.

The provincial government says 90 percent of respondents said the rise in green fees associated with the loss of the tax break would affect the local economy.

63 percent thought far fewer people would play at local courses, while another 24 percent said they thought the numbers would drop, but not by that much.

The provincial office commissioned (미래) Mirae Research to individually question 500 golfers at local country clubs on August 15th and 16th. The survey has a 95 percent confidence level and a sampling error of plus or minus 4.4 percentage points.

감면제도가 폐지되면 골프장 이용 빈도가 매우 많이 감소한다는 응답은 63%, 약간 감소할 것이라는 응답은 24%로 조사됐습니다.

이번 조사는 제주도가 지난달 15일부터 이틀 동안 여론조사 기관인 미래리서치에 의뢰해 골프관광객 500명을 대상으로 설문지를 이용한 일대일 면접 방식으로 진행됐으며 95% 신뢰수준에 표본오차는 플러스마이너스 4.4% 입니다.
