‘Jeju needs better infrastructure’
Head of China Tourism Research Institute among seminar attendees

The Jeju Development Institute held an academic seminar Friday at the Ocean Suites Hotel with participants from Korea and China.

Organizers wanted to use the event to come up with strategies to boost the quality of the local tourism sector in line with the Chinese visitors’ changing travel patterns.

The head of the China Tourism Research Institute argued that Jeju needs to expand traffic and communication infrastructure and to improve general tourist service. (따이빈) Daibin said doing so would help the island welcome individual Chinese tourists. An increasing number of Chinese are coming to Jeju on their own, not as part of groups.

As part of efforts to attract investments and promote active exchanges between Jeju and Korea, he also emphasized the need for Jeju to get the word out about the local business environment and policies.

최근 제주를 찾는 중국인 개별 관광객들이 늘어나는 만큼, 이들을 맞이하기 위한 교통과 통신 인프라 구축과 관광예약 서비스 개선이 필요하다고 말했습니다.

아울러 제주의 비즈니스 환경과 정책들을 홍보해 관광객 뿐 아니라 중국 투자기관도 적극적으로 유치해 교류를 활성화해야 한다고 강조했습니다.
