‘Be careful of poisonous mushrooms’
Hallasan National Park Office issues warning to fall hikers

Officials say they are concerned about wild poisonous mushrooms now that more people are heading out to go hiking.

The Hallasan National Park Office says that many poisonous varieties grow on the mountain in the fall. It is advising hikers to pay close attention to the mushrooms they pick, warning that it’s easy for non-specialists to mistake dangerous varieties for edible ones.

Officials are especially concerned with the sheathed woodtuft, which can easily be confused with poisonous varieties. They are urging everyone to have any mushrooms they pick checked by specialists.

가을 산행철을 맞아 독버섯에 대한 각별한 주의가 요구되고 있습니다.

한라산국립공원관리사무소는 가을철 한라산이나 들에서는 독버섯이 쉽게 관찰된다며, 전문가가 아니면 구별하기 어려운 만큼 함부로 먹어서는 안된다고 당부했습니다.

특히 부리우산버섯은 보통 식용버섯으로 알고 있으나 독을 갖고 있다며
야생에서 채집한 버섯들은 독성이 있는지 반드시 전문가의 확인 과정이 필요하다고 강조했습니다.
