Fishing boat capsized nearly 2 weeks ago - 18 dead or missing

Authorities began Thursday a thorough investigation of the Dolgorae, in order to figure out why the fishing boat capsized nearly two weeks ago, leaving 18 people dead or missing.

The Jeju office of the Ministry of Public Safety said it started a joint inspection of the hull at (신양) Shinyang Port in Chuja Island, in front of the Chuja office of the maritime safety center.

The ministry’s accident scene investigation team is working with the National Forensic Service, the Korea Ship Safety Technology Authority, and the Korea Maritime Safety Tribunal on the investigation.

낚시 어선 돌고래호 전복사고 원인을 파악하기 위한 선체 감식이 이뤄집니다.

제주해양경비안전본부는 내일(17일) 오전부터 추자도 신양항 추자해양경비안전센터 앞에서 돌고래호 선체에 대한 합동 정밀감식을 벌인다고 밝혔습니다.

합동 감식에는 해경 과학수사대를 비롯해 국립과학수사연구원, 선박안전기술공단, 해난심판원 등에서 함께 참가할 예정입니다.
