What do local parents pay for extracurricular education?
One-month survey begins Tuesday

Authorities will soon begin a survey of the amount of money spent in Jeju on education outside of regular school.

The Jeju branch of the Honam Statistical Office reports that it will carry out the study between September 22nd and October 23rd. It will collect information from 1,400 parents who have children in one of 48 classes at one of 42 area elementary, middle, and high schools. Specifically, officials will try and determine what the parents have spent on private education.

In addition, they hope to discover the reasons why they’ve spent money on it. The survey is being done through the office’s website and mobile application.

제주지역 사교육비 경감을 위한 실태조사가 실시됩니다.

호남지방통계청 제주사무소는 오는 22일부터 다음달 14일까지 23일 동안 도내 초·중·고등학교 42개 학교, 48학급의 학부모 1천400여 명을 대상으로 사교육비 조사를 실시합니다.

조사내용은 사교육 참여 이유와 비용 등으로 조사 대상자는 통계청 홈페이지 또는 모바일 등을 통해 참여하면 됩니다.
