Family of four found dead at daycare center
Police say it looks like a murder-suicide

Police have launched an investigation after four people from the same family were found dead Monday morning at eight a.m. at a daycare in Oedo-dong, Jeju City.

The Jeju (서부) Seobu Police Station says a 52-year old man was found hanging from a staircase railing on the third floor. His wife, the director of the center, as well as their son, who was a first-grade middle school student, and daughter, a fourth grade elementary school student, were all found dead in their rooms on the second floor. They all had stab wounds.

Investigators say there is a high possibility that the man killed his family and then committed suicide. They say he left a note that can be interpreted as a will.

오늘 오전 8시쯤 제주시 외도동의 한 어린이집에서 원장을 비롯한 일가족 4명이 숨진채 발견돼 경찰이 수사에 나섰습니다.

제주서부경찰서에 따르면 원장의 남편 52살 K씨는 3층 계단 난간에 목을 맨 채 숨져있었고 원장 40살 Y여인과 중학교 1학년 아들, 초등학교 4학년 딸은 가정집으로 사용하는 2층 각자의 방에서 흉기에 찔려 숨진채로 발견됐습니다.

경찰은 현장에서 유서 형식의 메모도 발견됨에 따라 남편이 가족을 살해하고 스스로 목숨을 끊었을 가능성에 무게를 두고 정확한 사건경위를 조사하고 있습니다.
