The Myths and History Theme Park… which is being funded by a foreign investment company and is currently under construction… has announced it will recruit 4,000 Jeju employees by 2019. Local officials say they will organize tailored job training programs to equip more prospective Jeju recruits with the skills required to work for large foreign investment firms such as this one. Lee Hee-jung joins me in the studio with more details.

Universities will also separately run tailored job training sessions for prospective recruits. From March 2016, universities in Jeju will offer training programs based on consultations with different companies, and divide the sessions into areas like business management, theme park and facility management.
Additional job training sessions will be offered to final-year high school students looking for employment.

In the past, many companies that invested in Jeju prefered to recruit people from outside the island because it was hard to find qualified workers here. But from now on, we will work in close cooperation with local universities and offer the necessary training for students who seek to work for these companies.
