Local livestock market sees calf prices surge
Price for female calves up 60% in last 6 months

With the current local livestock market extremely active, prices for calves are surging.

According to the provincial government, the number of calves traded in the first half of the year reached about 80%, but that number has recently increased to 90%.

In terms of price per female calf, earlier in the year they each sold for 1.5 million won, and that has risen even further to over 2.5 million won, more than a 60% increase in just six months.

가축시장 거래 활발, 송아지 가격도 올라

가축시장에서 거래가 활발해지면서 송아지 가격도 상승하고 있습니다.

제주특별자치도에 따르면 올 상반기만 하더라도 80% 초반대에 머물던
가축시장에서의 송아지 거래두수는 최근 90%를 넘고 있습니다.

가격대도 암송아지의 경우 올해 초 150만원대 안팎이었으나
최근에는 250만원을 넘어서 불과 반년 사이에 60% 이상 높게 거래되고 있습니다.
