Golf club tax default highest in nation
Jeju operations owe \15.1b, or 86.7% of total

It’s been reported that the rate of tax delinquency for local golf clubs is the highest in the nation.

Im Soo-kyeong(임수경), a member of the New Politics Alliance for Democracy -- or NPAD -- said that according to the Ministry of Home Affairs, local golf clubs nationwide were in arrears to the tune of 83.6 billion won, or 24% of the total amount owed.

Jeju’s rate, however, amounted to a whopping 86.7% of taxes owed -- or 15.1 billion won -- far and away the highest delinquency rate in the nation.

The second highest default rate was 65% in the Chungnam(충남) region, followed by Jeonbuk(전북) at 59% and Gyeongbuk(경북) at 47%, respectively.

부과된 지방세 총액의 24%에 이르고 있습니다.

특히 제주지역 체납액은 151억원으로 체납율이 무려 86.7%를 기록해 전국에서 가장 높았습니다. 두번째는 충남지역으로 65%, 전북 59%, 경북 47%로 뒤를 이었습니다.
