Seoul rules JGEC schools can repatriate profits
Revised special law includes details on transfers, dividends

The central government has ruled that international schools on Jeju can send profits home to their respective countries.

The government held a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-an (황교안) on the morning of Sept. 30th and passed a revised Special Law for Jeju Self-Governing Province containing the related details.

The law includes corporate accounting details regarding the transfer of earnings, dividends to shareholders, and limits on potentially excessive payouts to investors.

The revised special law will be sent to the National Assembly in the near future.

이같은 내용의 제주특별자치도 특별법 개정안을 의결했습니다.

특히 결산상 이익 잉여금을 법인회계로 전출할 수 있는 방안과 주주배당,
그리고 투자자에게 과도한 배당을 제한하는 근거를 담았습니다.

정부는 오늘 의결한 제주특별법 개정안을 조만간 국회에 넘길 예정입니다.
