Various cultural festivals on tap in Seogwipo
Reenactments of traditional island life on offer

For the holiday weekend, various cultural and music festivals in the south of the island are set to begin with a bang.

The 24th Deoksu-ri Traditional Folk Festival is on through the 10th at the Folk Performing Art Center in Deoksu-ri, Andeok-myeon. The festival will offer a reenactment of a traditional way of making farm tools, and a folk song that was sung when villagers came together to mill the annual grain harvest.

Another event involving musical performances and a singing contest will be held on the October 10th, this time in Jaguri(자구리) Park. The 2nd Seogwipo Jaguri Festival is organized by (서귀송산) Seogwi Songsan Village Association and features acoustic, jazz, and blues performances.

At Seongsan Folk Village in Pyoseon-myeon, the 22nd Jeongeui (정의)Village Traditional Folk Festival will take place over the course of two days from October 10th. The event will include a play performed in the Jeju language, a folk song contest, and a reenactment of a traditional procession.

방앗돌 굴리는 노래가 선보일 예정입니다.

서귀송산마을회가 주관하는 제2회 서귀포 자구리축제가 모레(10일) 자구리 공원에서 열려 노래공연, 시민노래자랑 등을 선보입니다. 모레부터 이틀 동안 표선면 성읍민속마을에서는 제22회 정의고을 통민속재현축제가 열려 제주어 연극과 민요경창대회, 정의현감 부임행차 재현 행사가 진행됩니다.
