Busy year in the construction sector
Most new permits for residential buildings

The local construction industry is still going very strong.

According to the provincial government, it granted construction permits for roughly 8,800 buildings in the first three quarters of the year. They will have a combined area of 2.66 million square meters, and that’s 27 percent more than during the same period last year.

Residential permits more than doubled to over 5,700 permits covering 1.38 million square meters of floorspace.

In contrast, authorities are issuing fewer permits for accommodations.

Local authorities say the construction boom will continue because of the island’s growing population.

올들어 지난달까지 건축허가는 8천 800 여동에 266 만 제곱미터로
지난해 같은기간에 비해
면적으로는 27% 증가했습니다.

특히 주거용 건축물이 5천 700 여동에 138만 제곱미터로
갑절 가까이 늘어
건축경기 상승세를 주도하고 있습니다.

반면 숙박시설의 경우 면적으로 크게 줄어 대조를 보였습니다.
제주도는 지속적인 인구 증가로
건축경기 호조세는 당분간 지속될 것으로 내다봤습니다.
