Surge in financial support for mainlanders moving to Jeju
Province provided over \11b in loans last year

Over the past few years, local authorities have begun offering a lot more financial support to the increasing number of mainlanders moving to the island.

The provincial government last year offered roughly 11.46 billion won in loans to 122 mainlanders moving to rural island communities.

That’s more than ten times the support it offered just five years ago. The total in 2010 was just 980 million won.

Officials parceled out 10.2 billion won to 95 beneficiaries for starting new businesses in the farming sector. The remaining 27 recipients were awarded 1.1 billion won in loans for housing in farming districts.

제주 귀농인 정책 자금 지원 급증

제주지역으로 귀농하는 인구가 늘면서 귀농인에 대한
정책자금 지원 규모도 급증한 것으로 나타났습니다.

제주도에 따르면 지난해 제주지역 귀농인에게 지원된 정책자금은
122건에 114억 6천 여만원으로 집계됐습니다.

이는 지난 2010년 9억8천 여만원에서 5년 만에 10배 가까이
증가한 규모입니다.

분야별로는 농업 창업 자금이 95건 102억원,
농가 주택 구입 자금이 27건에 11억원으로 나타났습니다.
