Jeju Outing Safety app awarded top prize
Second in national ‘best practices’ contest

A smartphone application jointly operated by four organizations, including Jeju City and the Jeju Police Agency, has been awarded a top prize by the National Police Agency.

The Jeju Outing Safety app scored second spot in an event called the “Government Best Practices Contest 3.0.” It was organized by the Ministry of Security and Public Administration.

The results of the contest were announced Thursday. The app will be showcased alongside other winners next month at the event awards ceremony.

The beacon-enabled app allows the smartphone user to instantly inform Jeju police and a guardian of their location in the case of an emergency by pressing the on/off button consecutively four to five times. The application also provides weather and flight information, as well as disaster information.

제주도와 제주지방경찰청 등 4개 기관이 업무협약을 맺어 운영하고 있는 제주 나들이 안심앱 서비스가 경찰청에서 주최한 정부 3.0 우수사례 경진대회에서 우수상을 수상했습니다.

이에 따라 제주 나들이 안심앱은 다음달 행정자치부에서 개최하는 정부 3.0 경진대회에서 경찰청의 우수사례로 출품될 예정입니다.

제주 나들이 앱 서비스를 이용할 경우 위급 상황시에 스마트폰의 전원버튼을 4~5회 연속으로 누르면 112 상황실과 보호자에게 자신의 위치와 긴급상황을 알릴 수 있고 기상상태와 항공기 결항 등 각종 재난정보도 제공받을 수 있습니다.
