Typhoon Champi moving north
25th major storm system of the season

Local weather experts are keeping a close eye on the 25th major storm system of the year as it moves from Guam toward the Japanese Archipelago.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, Typhoon Champi formed early last Wednesday in the waters northeast of Guam and was on a relatively northward track.

Forecasters say the mid-sized storm was expected to be about 1,060 kilometers north-northwest of Guam Monday.

The KMA says it is keeping a close watch on Champi, warning it could change direction and head toward either the Korean Peninsula or mainland Japan.

이동경로를 예의주시하고 있습니다.
