Court rules in partial favor of Samdasoo distributor
JPDC ordered to pay \53m

Jeju District Court has ruled in partial favor of the head of a Samdasoo distribution center, identified only as Yang, who had filed a suit seeking monetary compensation from the Jeju Provincial Development Corporation, the manufacturer of the bottled water.

Yang had claimed that the JPDC had caused his firm 260 million won in financial losses when it reduced production capacity between 2012 and March 2013.

Chief Judge Yu Dong-seok (유동석) ordered the corporation to pay the plaintiff 53 million won in compensation, but he held the JPDC only 20 percent responsible for the situation.


삼다수 공급 축소로 손해…"道개발공사 일부 책임"

제주지방법원 제2민사부 유석동 부장판사는
삼다수 유통대리점을 운영하는 양 모씨가 제주도개발공사를 상대로 제기한 손해배상청구 소송에서 개발공사는 양 씨에게 5천300여 만원을 배상하라고 주문했습니다.

법원은 다만 양 씨가 사실상 독점적인 지위를 누려온 점 등을 감안해
개발공사의 책임을 20%로 제한한다고 설명했습니다.

한편 양 씨는 지난 2012년부터 2013년 3월까지
개발공사가 삼다수 물량을 축소하는 바람에 2억6천여 만원의
영업 손실을 입었다며 소송을 제기했습니다.
