Land minister inspects JDC project sites
Yoo Il-ho offers praise, encouragement

The Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport visited Jeju Friday to inspect sites where JDC projects are currently being constructed.

The Jeju Free International City Development Center is currently working on developments in the fields of education, tourism, and medicine. (유일호) Yoo Il-ho spoke highly of the projects, saying they were pacesetting… not only for Jeju but for the entire nation, and urged that everything proceed as planned.

The minister also deemed the first Jeju Science Park an exemplary case of diversifying and improving a region’s industrial structure, referring to Jeju’s heretofore reliance on the tourism industry.

Yoo went on to encourage officials to put their utmost into building the 2nd Jeju Science Park, as well as revitalizing the local economy.

JDC에서 추진하고 있는 각종 프로젝트 현장을 점검했습니다.

유 장관은 이 자리에서 JDC가 추진하는 교육과 관광, 의료 등 핵심프로젝트는 제주도를 넘어 우리나라의 선도적 프로젝트라는 자부심을 갖고 계획대로 추진할 수 있도록 적극적인 관심을 당부했습니다.

또 제1첨단 과학기술단지는 관광산업에 편중돼 있는 제주의 산업구조 개선에 기여하면서 모범적인 성공사례로 평가받고 있다고 말하고,

앞으로 조성될 제2첨단과학기술단지와 더불어
산업발전과 지역경제 활성화에 힘써 달라고 강조했습니다.
