Proponents say liquefied natural gas is a safe and economical source of energy. Plans to bring it to the island have faced a number of setbacks, though, with officials now saying the local LNG rollout will likely be pushed back to 2020.

Hundreds leave for family reunions in North Korea
Yonhap is reporting that hundreds of South Korean family members left for North Korea Tuesday for their first reunions with relatives they have not seen for more than 60 years due to prolonged inter-Korean tensions. These are the first reunions since February 2014.

S. Korean, Japanese defense chiefs poised for talks
Defense Minister Han Min-koo and his Japanese counterpart, Gen Nakatani, were to hold talks Tuesday to discuss military issues. It was the first visit by a Japanese defense minister to South Korea in nearly five years.
