Fall foliage on Hallasan Mountain
Vibrant colors spreading down from summit

Now’s the best time to enjoy fall foliage on Hallasan Mountain.

According to the provincial government, last week the colors were most vivid from the summit down to an elevation of 1,600 meters. This week, the leaves are reportedly their most vibrant around the 1,500-meter point, near Samgakbong (삼각봉) Peak.

The Korea Meteorological Administration defines the peak of autumn foliage as the point at which about 80 percent of leaves have turned.


한라산 삼각봉 주변 단풍 절정

가을이 깊어지면서 한라산 단풍도 절정을 이루고 있습니다.

제주도에 따르면 한라산 단풍은 지난 주 백록담 정상에서
1600고지까지 절정을 보이다 점점 낮은 쪽으로 내려오고 있습니다.

특히 현재 1500고지 삼각봉 주변에 단풍이 절정을 이루고 있습니다.

한편 기상청은 산 정상에서부터 80% 정도 물들었을 때를
단풍 절정기로 분류하고 있습니다.
