The Jemin Ilbo is reporting that most of the businesses run by Jeju Provincial Development Corporation are in the red, with the exception of Samdasoo, Jeju’s iconic bottled water. Analysts say some products will likely be discontinued.

Relocation possible for Jeju Girls’ Middle School
Jeju Girls’ Middle School will likely to relocate from Gu Jeju (구제주) to Shin Jeju (신제주) to resolve a shortage of schools in that area. This follows remarks earlier this year by Superintendent of Education Lee Seok-moon (이석문) that schools would be moved as needed.

Yonhap is reporting that Korean families split by the heavily-armed border began to reunite in the North Tuesday as part of a major inter-Korean humanitarian program. The relatives had not seen one another since the Korean War, which lasted from 1950 to 1953.

S. Korea loses track of 18-year-old who joined IS
South Korea has reportedly lost track of an 18-year-old loner who joined the Islamic State militant group in Syria. The National Intelligence Service was aware of the whereabouts of the young man, identified only by his surname Kim, until May, but he has since gone off the grid.
