Use of livestock medicine on farmed fish prohibited
Rule takes effect immediately

Livestock medicines are now prohibited from use on farmed fish.

The provincial office on Wednesday gave advance notice of new legislation on fish safety inspections that includes a regulation that only medicine specifically for farmed fish be used on them.

Therefore, going forward, veterinarians’ prescriptions of livestock medicine will have no legitimate uses for farmed fish.

Provincial officials say they will more carefully monitor all local fish farms, and that subsidies will be cut for those that continue to use livestock medicine.


양식수산물 축산용 의약품 사용 금지

앞으로는 양식수산물에 축산용 의약품 사용이 금지됩니다.

제주특별자치도는 오늘(28일)자로 양식 수산물에는 수산용 의약품만 사용하도록 하는 내용의 제주도 수산물방역 안전성검사 조례 개정안을 입법예고했습니다.

이에따라 앞으로는 수의사 처방이 있어도 양식 수산물은 축산용 의약품 사용이 전면 금지됩니다.

제주도는 이 밖에도 축산용 의약품을 사용하는 양식장에 대한 집중 모니터링을 실시하고 적발된 곳은 행, 재정적 지원을 중단할 방침입니다.
