First frost of the year
Ice on Hallasan Mountain 5 days earlier than last year

The first ice of the year was observed Thursday at the top of Hallasan Mountain.

The Jeju Regional Meteorological Administration said that the dropping mercury of late gave us the first frost five days earlier than last year.

Forecasters say that cold air from the north will keep temperatures below average for a while. They are advising everyone to keep this in mind and dress accordingly.


한라산 첫 얼음 관측…5일 빨라

오늘(29일) 올 가을들어 한라산 정상에서 얼음이 관측됐습니다.

제주지방기상청은
우리나라 상층으로 찬 공기가 남하해 대기가 냉각되면서
오늘 새벽 한라산 정상에서 첫 얼음이 관측됐다고 밝혔습니다.

이는 지난해 관측시점인 11월 3일보다 5일 빠른 것입니다.

기상청은 당분간 북쪽에서 찬 공기가 남하하면서 기온이 평년보다
떨어지겠다며 건강관리에 유의해줄 것을 당부했습니다.
