Jeju hikers among first group to summit Nyambo Konka
6,144 m peak in Sichuan, China

The Korean Alpine Federation, including members of the Jeju Hikers Federation, became the first group ever to summit a 6,144-meter peak in Sichuan Province, China.

Ten islanders were on the team. They included team leader Lee Jong-ryang, Kang Seon-kyoon, the chief of the expedition, and head climber Kim Young-yong.

They began the climb up Nyambo Konka on October 14th, reaching base camp on the 17th. They then made it to the peak around 7 p.m. on the 28th, which was last Wednesday.

제주 산악인 중국 미답봉 세계 첫 등반

제주 산악인들이 중국에 있는 6천m급 미답봉에 세계최초로 등반에 성공해 화제가 되고 있습니다.

제주도에 따르면 대한산악연맹 제주도산악연맹 회원으로 구성된 '제주 니암보공가 원정대'는 지난 28일 저녁 7시쯤 중국 쓰촨성에 있는 해발 6천144m의 니암보공가 정상 정복에 성공했습니다.

이종량 단장과 강선균 원정대장, 김영용 등반대장으로 구성된 10명의 제주 원정대는 지난 14일 원정길에 올라 17일 베이스캠프에 도착한 뒤 27일부터 본격적으로 등반하기 시작해 이튿날인 28일 정상등정에 성공했습니다.
