Mandarins shipped to USA
800 tons to be sent through December 20

Outdoor-grown mandarin oranges from Jeju are now on their way to the United States.

Representatives from the main Jeju office of Nonghyup and the provincial government say Seogwipo Nonghyup made the first shipments October 30th when 28 tons of fruit were sent.

Five island Nonghyup offices will be sending a total of 800 tons of citrus to the States through December 20th.

The mandarins are being exported at 1,430 won per kilogram.

In all, local officials say about 5,000 tons of island fruit will be shipped abroad this year. That’s 2,000 tons more than last year.


올해산 노지감귤 미국 수출 시작

올해산 노지감귤의 미국 수출이 본격적으로 시작됐습니다.

농협중앙회제주지역본부와 제주특별자치도는 지난달 30일 서귀포농협
수출선과장에서 올해산 노지감귤 18톤을 미국으로 선적한 것을 시작으로,
다음달 20일까지 5개 농협에서 800톤을 수출한다고 밝혔습니다.
수출가격은 킬로그램당 1천 430원입니다.

한편, 올해산 감귤 수출 예상물량은 5천 톤으로 지난해보다 2천 톤 늘었습니다.
