For terrestrial wind farms, the land must be at least 1.2 kilometers from an oreum or main road.
For ocean farms, it must be at least 1 kilometer offshore and have approval from fishery associations.
The Jeju Island Energy Corporation will then conduct site investigations and general evaluations before making its final selection.

Potential land will go through an environment evaluation and district application. Once it is finally selected as an appropriate site, investors will be brought in.
In addition, a development subsidy of 20 million won per megawatt will be offered for community development, with the option also open to villages.
