Public institutions express support for second airport
Directors visit provincial office Thursday

The directors of public institutions in Jeju have expressed support for the plan to build a second airport on the island.

Representatives of the Jeju Development Institute, the Jeju Development Corporation, and other institutions on Thursday visited the provincial office and said they welcomed the announcement that a new airport will be built in Seongsan-eup.

They said the facility would become a crucial facet of local infrastructure and that it would be instrumental to future development. They also asked that the administrative process for the project be shortened in order to open the airport earlier than currently planned.

제주발전연구원과 제주도개발공사 등 도내 공기업과 출자출연기관장들은 오늘 제주도청을 방문해 성산읍 지역 제2공항 건설을 환영한다고 밝혔습니다.

제2공항은 앞으로 제주도 미래발전을 견인할 가장 중요한 인프라로 공항 개항시기를 앞당기기 위해 정부에 예비타당성과 공항 건설 기본계획 등 사전 행정절차를 최대한 단축시켜 줄 것을 건의했습니다.
