‘Thorough investigation’ of any suspected land speculation
Authorities will keep sharp eye on area around site for second airport

The governor has promised to thoroughly inspect any suspected cases of real estate speculation in (성산읍) Seongsan-eup.

Governor (원희룡) Won Heeryong made the comments at a briefing session in Seogwipo on Friday in response to concerns about real estate speculation around the recently announced second airport location. He added that measures would be taken should any such cases be found.

The provincial government will review all copies of land deeds around the site of the future airport, focusing on when transactions took place, how much was paid, and whether any mortgages were taken out for the purchases.

원희룡 제주특별자치도지사가 제2공항 예정부지인 성산읍 일대 투기의혹에 대해 전수조사를 실시하겠다고 밝혔습니다.

원 지사는 오늘 서귀포 2청사에서 열린 기관단체장 설명회에서 최근 일각에서 제기되는 공항 입지 주변 투기의혹에 대해 전소조사를 통해 사실여부를 확인하고 대책을 세우겠다고 강조했습니다.

이에따라 제주도는 공항 예정부지와 인근 지역의 등기부등본 정보 열람을 통해 거래일자와 금액, 저당권 설정 여부 그리고 농지법에 따른 자경여부 등을 확인할 예정입니다.
