‘Construction should be shortened by at least 3 years’
Tourism association representatives express support for second airport

The provincial tourism association has welcomed the news regarding Jeju’s second airport, but it has also asked that the project timeframe be shortened by at least three years.

Association representatives visited the provincial office on Friday and expressed support for the new airport, saying it was a historical decision that will bring Jeju one step closer to becoming a global travel destination.

They added that the existing airport will soon be operating at full capacity and therefore unable to handle more fliers. They asked the national government to continue to support the construction of the new facility and actually get the work done at least three years earlier than currently planned.


제주 관광협회, "제2공항 완공 최소 3년 앞당겨야"

제2공항 건설과 관련해 제주도관광협회는 적극 환영하면서 공항 완공 시기를 최조 3년 이상 앞당겨야 한다고 요청했습니다.

제주도관광협회는 오늘(13일) 오전 제주도청을 방문해 제주 제2공항 건설은 제주를 세계적 관광지로의 도약을 실현하게 해 줄 역사적 결정이라며 적극 환영한다고 밝혔습니다.

특히 포화된 공항에서 관광객 만족도 하락은 불보듯 뻔한 일이라며, 제2공항 완공시기를 최소 3년이상 앞당 길 수 있도록 적극정인 정부의 지원과 협력을 요청했습니다.
