59 corporations from the mainland now call Jeju home
Three have signed agreements this year to relocate

Dozens of companies from the mainland have now made the move to Jeju.

According to the provincial government, in 2015, three firms - an IT company, a pharmaceutical company, and one training institute - signed agreements to move to Jeju. Those relocations will begin in mid-2016 at the latest.

That brings the total number of mainland companies that have moved to Jeju to 59. Combined, approximately 2,600 employees work for these companies.

Local officials hope even more companies will expand their island operations after the construction of the Asia CGI creation center is complete next year.


수도권 기업 제주 이전 잇따라…현재 59군데

수도권 기업들의 제주이전이 잇따르고 있습니다.

제주특별자치도에 따르면 올들어 정보통신업과 제약회사, 연수원 등 3군데 수도권 기업과 제주 이전에 따라 현재 업무협약을 모두 마치고 늦어도 내년 중에 착공할 예정이라고 밝혔습니다.

이로서 제주로 이전된 기업은 모두 59군데로 늘어났으며 이들 기업의 고용인원은 2천 600여명에 이르는 것으로 분석되고 있습니다.

제주도는 내년에 아시아 CGI 즉, 컴퓨터 영상 합성 기술 창조센터가 준공되면 관련사업의 추가 유치를 기대하고 있습니다.
