New group to root out illegal development in Seongsan
Seogwipo announces formation of new control unit

The Seogwipo municipal administration will crack down on illegal development projects in Seongsan-eup.

At a press briefing on Monday, Mayor (현을생) Hyeon Eul-seng said a joint control unit for that purpose would be formed as part of efforts to aid in the process to build the island’s second airport in the region.

The unit will consist of officials from the departments of urban architecture, mandarin orange farming, parks and forests, and landscape gardening. They will inspect all land alterations, construction work, farmland, woodlands, and grasslands in the area.

합동단속반은 성산읍지역의 토지 형질변경이나 건축행위, 농지와 산지, 초지 전용 등을 점검하기 위해 도시건축과 감귤농정, 공원녹지, 축정부서로 구성됩니다.
