520,000 sea cucumbers to be released in village fishing grounds
Part of efforts to stock local waters, boost seafood industry

Over half a million red sea cucumbers will be released into 10 village fishing grounds.

The provincial government is releasing 520,000 large red sea cucumbers through this Friday in order to help boost the seafood industry.

For a sense of the scale by region, (종달) Jongdal and (귀덕) Gwideok1 will receive 70,000 young sea cucumbers… and (대포) Daepo and (법환) will receive 60,000.

So far this year, the province has released close to 1.2 million young edible sea creatures, including abalone.


<마을어장 홍해삼 52만 마리 방류>

제주도내 10개 마을어장에 홍해삼 52만 마리가 방류됩니다.

제주특별자치도는 마을어장 자원조성과 어업인 소득증대를 위해 오는 20일까지 우량 홍해삼 52만 마리를 방류합니다.

지역별로 살펴보면 종달과 귀덕1 어촌계에 종묘 7만마리, 대포와 법환 어촌계에 종묘 6만마리 등입니다.

한편, 제주도는 올해 전복과 어류 등 수산종묘 116만여 마리를 방류했습니다.
