Highest competition for positions as English teachers

The provincial office of education says there are an average of 8.3 applicants for every teaching position opening at public middle and high schools next year.

The application period closed last week, and the education office said Wednesday that 754 candidates had applied for the 91 spots available.

By subject, competition is highest for positions as English teachers, with 81 applicants for three openings. That’s an average of 27 candidates for each one. The ratio of applicants to openings for Korean-language teaching positions is nearly as strong at 26.6 to 1, and for social studies it’s 24 to 1.

At the other end of the scale, however, there are just 0.7 candidates for every position open to disabled applicants.

The written part of the exam takes place on December 5th, and interviews and practical exams will be conducted throughout the month of January. Final results will be announced on February 2nd.

일반사회는 24 대1을 기록했습니다.

장애모집 평균 경쟁률은 0.7대 1로 나타났습니다.
