Designation of investment promotion zone revoked
Third area this year to lose special status

The designation of an Investment Promotion Zone has been canceled... upon request... at the site of the so-called New Daejangeum project.

The site was designated an Investment Promotion Zone back in 2009 and some 7 billion won went into creating a tourism restaurant and other facilities. A lack of funds, however, reportedly forced owners to close it down.

Out of the 51 Investment Promotion Zones in Jeju, three have had their designations revoked this year due to lacklustre performance.


道, '사업 부진' 투자진흥지구 지정 해제

투자진흥지구로 지정된 사업장이 영업 부진 등의 이유로 지구 지정이 해제됐습니다.

제주특별자치도는 지난 2009년 투자진흥지구로 지정된 뉴대장금조성사업자의 자진 철회 요청에 따라 어제(18일)자로 투자진흥지구 지정 해제를 고시했습니다.

해당 사업장은 70억여원이 투입돼 관광식당 등을 조성했지만 자금난을 겪으면서 운영을 중단했습니다.

현재 투자진흥지구는 51군데가 지정된 가운데 올해만 영업 부진 등으로 사업장 세 곳이 지정 해제됐습니다.
