Taekwondo musical ‘Tal’ to be staged in Jeju December 6
2 PM and 6 PM at Jeju Students Cultural Center

Korea’s first musical created by Taekwondo martial artists will be staged in Jeju next month.

On invitation from KCTV, the musical (탈) Tal will be performed for the first time on the island on December 6th.

It was planned and created by members of the national Taekwondo performance squad, and it combines dynamic martial arts moves with water and fire performances, world-class breakdancing, and subtle Asian dance moves.

Tal was selected as one of the closing performances for the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, and it has received critical acclaim in 50 cities across 33 countries.

The musical will be staged twice in Jeju on December 6th, once at 2 p.m. and again at 6 p.m. at the Jeju Students Cultural Center. Free tickets are currently being distributed at the Jeju Taekwondo Association headquarters.

국가대표 태권도 시범단이 직접 참여해 기획한 뮤지컬 탈 'Tal'은 역동적인 격파, 물과 불을 이용한 화려한 타악기, 세계 최고 실력의 비보잉, 섬세한 동양 무용 등의 다양한 공연분야가 융합된 콘텐츠로 태권도에 문화예술을 접목시켜 공연으로 승화시킨 작품 입니다.

태권도 뮤지컬 탈은 이미 2010년 광저우 아시안게임 폐막식 공연작으로 선정되는 등 5개 대륙 33개 국가 50개도시에서 공연을 펼쳐 갈채를 받은 화제작이기도 합니다.

제주에서는 오는 12월 6일 오후 2시와 6시 제주학생문화원에서 두차례 공연을 펼치게 되는데 제주태권도협회에서 초대권을 무료로 배부하고 있습니다.
