Memorial altar set up for former President Kim Young-sam
Kim died Sunday aged 87

Local residents, with their mainland counterparts, have been mourning the death on Sunday of former President Kim Young-sam.

The provincial government on Monday erected a memorial altar for the former president in the provincial office’s auditorium as well as another at Seogwipo City Hall.

Governor Won Heeryong, council Speaker Koo Sung-ji, other councilmembers, and members of the Saenuri Party visited the altars Monday morning to express their condolences.

They will remain open around the clock through this Thursday.


김영삼 전 대통령 분향소 설치…조문 행렬 이어져

김영삼 전 대통령의 장례가 국가장으로 치러지는 가운데 분향소가 설치된 제주에서도
애도의 발길이 이어지고 있습니다.

제주특별자치도는 오늘 오전 9시부터 제주도청 대강당과 서귀포시청 대강당에
김 전 대통령 합동 분향소를 마련해 운영하고 있습니다.

분향소에는 오늘 오전 원희룡 도지사를 비롯해 제주도의회 구성지 의장과 도의원,
새누리당 제주도당 관계자들이 찾으며 김 전 대통령을 애도하는 행렬이 이어지고 있습니다.

한편 김 전 대통령의 분향소는 오는 26일까지 24시간 운영됩니다.
