National Assembly to review Yerae Resort Complex amendment
Bill would open up way for construction to resume

A proposed amendment to the Jeju Special Law regarding the Yerae Resort Complex in Seogwipo has been submitted for review at the National Assembly.

Lawmakers on Monday agreed to review all 222 bills that were submitted and sent them to the Legislation and Judiciary Committee’s review subcommittee.

Here in Jeju, all eyes are on the future of the proposal to shift decision-making rights regarding Jeju’s recreational areas from the national government to the provincial government. If passed, analysts say the bill would help allow work on the Yerae Resort Complex to resume. Construction stalled earlier this year.

Also up for review by the National Assembly’s standing committee is a revision to the Jeju April 3rd Special Law calling for permanent registration rights for victims and their relatives.

서귀포시 예래휴양단지 관련 제주특별법 개정안이 국회에서 본격적으로 다뤄질 전망입니다.

국회 안전행정위원회는 오늘(23일) 전체회의를 열고 상정된 222건의 안건을 모두 법안심사소위원회로 회부했습니다. 특히 제주의 현안 가운데 하나인 유원지 시설의 결정과 설치기준을 도 조례로 정할 수 있도록 하는 내용의 제주특별법 개정안의 경우 전체회의에서 별다른 논의 없이 법안심사소위원회로 회부돼 향후 처리결과에 관심을 모으고 있습니다.

이와 함께 오늘 열린 안전행정위원회 전체회의에서 법안심사소위원회로 회부된 안건 가운데 4.3 희생자와 유족의 신고를 상설화 하는 내용의 4.3 특별법 개정안도 포함됐습니다.
