Jeju Office of Education hires first Vietnamese teacher
Nearly 300 students in Jeju have a Vietnamese parent

The provincial office of education has hired Jeju’s first native-speaking Vietnamese teacher as part of efforts to expand multicultural education on the island.

Having majored in Korean language studies at Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the new hire will teach subjects including the Vietnamese language and Vietnamese social sciences at four middle schools: Halla, Nohyeong, Jeju Seo, and Joongang.

There are 263 Vietnamese-Korean students in Jeju… and they are the largest single subgroup of children from multicultural families on the island.


道교육청, 첫 베트남 원어민 교사 채용

제주도교육청이 처음으로 베트남 출신의 원어민 교사를 공개 채용했습니다.

제주도교육청은 다문화 교육 확대 등을 위해 호치민국립인문사회과학대학교의 추천을 받아 한국학과 졸업생 1명을 1년 계약직으로 채용했다고 밝혔습니다.

이번에 채용된 베트남 원어민 교사는 한라중과 노형중, 제주서중과 중앙중 등 4군데 학교를 대상으로 주 한차례 강사로 나서게됩니다.
