Jeju mourns Kim Young-sam
Former president died Sunday aged 87

Jeju residents continue to mourn the death of former President Kim Young-sam, who passed away Sunday at the age of 87.

As of 4 p.m. Tuesday, over 1,100 people on the island had paid their respects at memorial altars set up in Jeju City and Seogwipo. KCTV Chairman Gong Seong-Yong and other KCTV staff members were among those who visited the altar at the provincial office on Tuesday to offer their condolences.

Kim’s funeral will be held at 2 pm on Thursday at a plaza in front of the National Assembly in Seoul. The late president will then be laid to rest at Seoul National Cemetery.

Memorial altars have been set up across the country as part of a five-day mourning period, which ends on Thursday.

김영삼 전 대통령 제주서도 추모행렬

고 김영삼 전 대통령의 서거 사흘째인 오늘(24일), 제주에서도 분향소를 찾는 조문객의 발길이 이어졌습니다.

김 전 대통령의 분향소가 설치된 제주도청 대강당에는 오늘(24일) KCTV제주방송 공성룡 회장 등 임직원들을 비롯해 도내 기관단체장과 일반인들의 조문 행렬이 이어졌습니다.

제주도는 분향소가 운영된 어제부터 오늘 오후 4시까지 조문객 1100백명이 찾았다고 밝혔습니다.

김 전 대통령의 영결식은 모레(26일) 오후 2시 국회의사당에서 거행된 후에 안장식은 서울 동작구 국립서울현충원에서 엄수됩니다.

제주를 비롯해 전국의 각 분향소는 영결식이 열리는 오는 26일까지 운영될 예정입니다.
