Jeju housing prices continue to rise
Up 7.3% in October compared to a year earlier

In related news, housing prices in Jeju continue to rise.

According to the Bank of Korea’s Jeju branch… the selling price for housing in October rose 7.3 percent year-on-year. And (전세) jeonse leases, in which a tenant pays a large lump-sum deposit, which is then returned in full at the end of the contract, were up 6.4 percent.

Analysts say the price hike can be attributed to the rising number of people coming to live on the island, more investments being made in the real estate market due to low interest rates, and the relative scarcity of jeonse leasing contracts.

The BOK says the rise in housing prices will likely continue due to major construction projects for the so-called Jeju Innocity as well as the booming tourist industry and the continued influx of new residents.


도내 주택 매매·전세 가격 오름세

제주지역 주택 매매, 전세 가격의 오름세가 지속되고 있습니다.

한국은행 제주지역본부에 따르면 지난달 주택 매매 가격은 지난해 말보다 7.3퍼센트, 전세 가격은 6.4퍼센트 증가한 것으로 나타났습니다.

가격 상승 요인은 도내 유입 인구 증가로 인한 주택 수요 증가와저금리에 따른 투자, 전세물량 부족 등으로 분석됩니다.

한국은행은 혁신도시 조성과 관광산업 호조로 도내 유입인구가 꾸준히 늘면서 당분간 매매, 전세 가격 오름세가 지속될 것으로 전망했습니다.
