Jeju, Hainan to strengthen ties
Governors sign agreement boosting exchanges

Jeju and Hainan, China have agreed to boost cultural exchanges as the two sides mark 20 years of bilateral ties this year.

Jeju Governor (원희룡) Won Heeryong and Hainan Governor (류츠구이) Liu Cigui signed an agreement Friday to boost cooperation between four institutions and associations from each side... including the Jeju Development Institute, the Jeju Tourism Organization, Halla Library, and the Jeju Youth Association.

Under the agreement, the Jeju Development Institute and the Hainan Institute of Social Sciences will conduct joint studies, symposiums, and exchange programs. The Jeju Tourism Organization, meanwhile, agreed to cooperate with the Hainan Provincial Tourism Development Commission on offering chartered flights between Jeju and Hainan… and opening up new cruise routes between the two provinces.

제주-中 하이난, 교류·협력 확대

자매결연 20년을 맞은 제주도와 중국 하이난성이 교류와 협력의 폭을 넓히기로 했습니다.

제주특별자치도에 따르면 원희룡 지사와 류츠구이 하이난성장은 어제 하이난 영빈관에서 제주와 하이난성 양측의 4개 기관.단체간 교류협력에 따른 업무협약을 체결했습니다.

이에 따라 제주발전연구원과 사회과학원은 연구와 학술대회 공동개최, 연구원 상호 파견 등을 추진하기로 했습니다.

또 제주관광공사와 여유발전위원회는 상호 관광발전을 위해 양 지역의 직항 또는 전세기 운항 개설, 크루즈 항로 개설 등에 적극 협력하기로 했습니다.
