Provincial council members to get 3.8% raise next year
Local lawmakers will make about \54m in 2016

Members of the provincial council are getting a 3.8 percent raise next year.

The council’s steering committee announced Wednesday that it had adopted a proposal to adjust the pay for members in 2016. They will be getting 1.3 million won more, which brings their annual salary to roughly 54 million won.

The announcement comes on the back of a decision made late last year by the council’s deliberation committee to adjust the salaries of council members from 2016 through 2018 in order to bring them in line with the average raises given to public officials.

내년도 도의원 의정활동비 3.8% 인상

제주특별자치도의회 의원들의 내년도 의정활동비가 올해보다 3.8% 인상됩니다.

제주특별자치도의회 운영위원회는 오늘(2일) 제2차 회의를 열고, 의정활동 심의위원회가 제출한 '도의원 의정활동비에 대한 조례 개정안'을 원안 채택했습니다.

이에따라 도의원들은 내년에 133만 8천 원이 인상된 5천460만원을 의정활동비로 받게 됩니다.

한편, 이번 의정비 조정은 지난해 열린 의정활동비 심의위원회에서 오는 2018년까지 도의원들의 월정수당을 지방공무원 보수 인상률 범위 내에서 조정하기로 결정함에 따라 진행됐습니다.
