More moving to new airport site
100+ new residents in Seongsan-eup over last month

Ever since the national government’s announcement last month that Jeju will be getting a second airport, an increasing number of people have been moving to the area where the new facility will be built.

According to Seongsan-eup officials, 114 people registered as new residents in the last month. 105 of them, or 92 percent, moved into one of the five villages that will become the site of the new airport in the next few years. Thirty-seven percent, or 42 people, moved to (온평리) Onpyeong-ri, which accounts for roughly 70 percent of the land for the new airport.

제2공항 계획이 발표된후 성산읍의 공항 예정부지로 전입하는 인구가 늘고 있습니다.

성산읍에 따르면 지난 한 달동안 성산읍 전체 유입인구는 114명으로 이 가운데 92%인 105명이 공항 예정부지인 5개 마을로 유입됐습니다.

특히 공항부지의 70%를 차지하는 온평리에는 전체 증가 인구의 37%인 42명이 순유입된 것으로 나타났습니다.
