Government to study feasibility of new airport plan
Korea Development Institute to conduct research

The Ministry of Strategy and Finance has announced it will soon begin looking into the feasibility of building a second airport in Jeju.

At a recent meeting, members of the ministry’s financial assessment advisory committee decided to begin a preliminary feasibility study on the plan to build the facility in Seongsan-eup.

The Korea Development Institute will be in charge of conducting the study. The research is expected to take up to a year before a conclusion is reached.

If the airport plan is seen as feasible, designs will be drawn up accordingly.

제주 제2공항 건설 사업이 본격 추진될 전망입니다.

기획재정부 재정평가자문위원회는 최근 회의를 열어 제주 제2공항 사업을 예비타당성 대상사업으로 확정했습니다.

이에 따라 정부는 조만간 KDI를 통해 제2공항에 대한 예비타당성 조사에 착수하게 됩니다.
예비타당성 조사는 앞으로 1년간 진행되며, 타당성이 인정되면 제2공항에 대한 기본계획을 수립하게 됩니다.
