Local delegation promoting Jeju citrus in the US
800 tons of mandarin oranges set to be exported to America this year

A delegation of members of the provincial government and the Jeju branch of the Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation are visiting New York and Los Angeles for a one-week promotional tour for local citrus that ends on the 17th.

Over the next few days, the delegation will sell Jeju mandarin oranges, hold free tastings, and introduce various types of processed foods that were made with the fruit at 23 stores in the two largest US cities.

800 tons of outdoor-grown Jeju mandarins are set to be exported to the US this season. That’s 30 percent more than last year.

제주특별자치도가 한국농수산식품유통공사 제주지역본부와 함께 오는 17일까지 일주일간 미국 뉴욕과 로스엔젤레스에서 제주감귤 해외판촉 행사를 개최합니다.

이번 판촉행사는 뉴욕과 로스엔젤레스 23개 매장에서 진행되며 감귤판매와 시식은 물론 감귤을 이용한 다양한 가공식품도 선보일 예정입니다.

제주도는 2015년산 노지감귤의 대미수출물량으로 지난해보다 30% 늘어난 800 톤을 계획하고 있습니다.
