St. Johnsbury Academy applies for construction permit
American school seeks campus in Global Education City

Work is set to begin on a new international school in Jeju.

Seogwipo officials are reportedly reviewing St. Johnsbury Academy’s construction plan for a campus in the Jeju Global Education City.

If no changes are needed to the plan, officials are likely to issue a permit to begin work by the end of the month.

St. Johnsbury Academy initially signed an MOU with the Jeju Free International City Development Center back in November 2012 to open a campus in the GEC in September of this year. The project was delayed due to issues with private investment.

서귀포시가 영어교육도시에 들어설 예정인 '세인즈 존스베리 아카데미 제주' 국제학교가 제출한 건축허가 신청에 대한 심의에 들어갔습니다.

서귀포시는 세인즈 존스베리 국제학교 건축주인 JDC로가 건축허가 신청을 접수함에 따라 관련 부서간 협의를 진행하고 있다고 밝혔습니다.

검토결과 특별한 보완사항이 없을 경우 이달 안으로 건축허가가 처리될 것으로 내다보고 있습니다.

미국 사립학교인 세인트 존스베리 국제학교는 지난 2012년 11월 JDC와 영어교육도시 진출 계약을 맺고 올해 9월 개교할 예정이었지만 민간투자 등의 문제로 개교가 늦어지고 있습니다.
